Rudsambee Company of Singers
I have been asked to write something for the Rudsambee Company of Singers for a performance this year. I decided to write a short piece based on the text from ‘Evening Waterfall’ by Carl Sandburg. I was delighted to be invited to the first choir rehearsal during the week and really enjoyed it. The choir sing beautifully and it’s a great privilege to get to work with the singers first hand.
The piece also calls for piano, fiddle and ‘cello - I can’t wait for the first full rehearsal!
The piece is part of a concert this fringe which boasts a fantastically diverse programme including pieces from Edinburgh University composers Harry Whalley, Tamsin Dearnley and Nikolaos Spiliotis. The concert will be held at the St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh on Aug 25th 2012.
